About Me

I am a social scientist and strategic leader with more than two decades of professional and leadership experience across Africa, Asia, Europe, the UK. I am a strategy consultant, executive coach, facilitator and speaker in the fields of inclusive leadership development, transformation and innovation. I have worked with a range of international organisations across sectors and industries for over twenty years and supported leaders and teams globally through both in-house and consultancy roles.

I design and drive transformation journeys that serve to connect the dots between representation, inclusion, enhanced organisational performance and innovation. Through my lived and professional experience globally, I have gathered a wealth of human and organisational insights into both the painpoints that organisations experience in their inclusion transformation journeys and the opportunities that are bespoke to each organisation.

I have sector expertise in: biomedical research institutes, intergovernmental organisations and the private sector globally. I sit on a number of institutional advisory boards in Europe.

The first 10 years of my career were in academia. I then transformed my research interests and analytical skills into consultancy work. I am Honorary Associate Professor of Sociolinguistics at the University of Nottingham and draw from my academic networks to support my consultancy work with an evidence base.

In terms of professional accreditation, I completed an Executive Programme in Organisation Leadership and Innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2023) ; an Executive Programme in Inclusive Leadership at the London School of Economics and Political Science Executive programme (2022). I also hold a CIPD Level 7 Award in Learning Design, Delivery and Evaluation (2019).

I have a PhD in Social Sciences, MA in Postcolonial Literature (Distinction) and BA in English Language and Literature (Class I) from the University of Leeds, UK.

My Approach

There are likely as many approaches to the journey of organisational transformation as there are consultants. I take a strategic steer, as opposed to a programmatic one (see my blog). Drawing from my research background, global insights, lived and professional experience, I help organisations develop bespoke strategies on representation and inclusion that are directly aligned with and support their organisational mission and business outcomes. I focus on the systemic dimensions of representation and inclusion, scrutinising and transforming institutional and systemic hurdles. Finally, I take an evidence based approach through research and analysis to identify gaps and devise targeted actions accordingly.

“We invited Roshni to CNRS in the context of International Women’s Day and she gave an extraordinary seminar on why inspiring inclusion is key to science and research. Months later, references to her seminar and the critical ideas she shared resurface in discussions among group leaders.”
